Blog 4: Interview Preparation

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?
I plan on interviewing an event planner i have the card of the person but she doesn't have a location i can visit at. If i cant interview her I'm going to interview my mom because she deals with a lot of families planning a quince. My mom provides the options of selling a dress and all the necessities.
2.  You have to ask 5 questions.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?  Ask open-ended questions.
1. What made you go into this field? Any particular moment when you knew this is what you wanted to do?
2. Do you only take one kind of costumers? For example do you only do quinces, weddings, ect?
3. What months do you get the most business? Why do you think those months are so high?
4. What are the trends of the season? Is there anything you always see repeated like traditions, themes?
5. On average how many events do you plan a year? Whats the lowest and highest number of events you've had?

1.  List your topic here:
Quince Planning

2.  What do you plan to do this year to show growth in each of the ESLRs?  Be specific and use an example.  Examples can come from senior project, model assembly, core, and/or participation in senior class ASB or other organizations on campus (clubs etc).

  •  Ipoly Citizen: I plan to be a good citizen of ipoly by showing up on time to classes so i wont make the whole class fall behind. I will also respect all my peers opinions. I plan on joining many committees  to make sure we have a great senior year.
  • Effective learner: To be an effective learner i am going to use my time effectively, i will turn in all my work on time, and always come to class with all the materials i will need for that day.
  • Effective user of technology: I will make sure to use the internet to my advantage, i will look for the best possible sources in order to have correct information on my topic. I will check the senior blog daily and also my email.

3. What does it take to run a business?
What are the most important aspects of planning a quince?

4. The most important thing i learned from this experience was to be patient because many times clients come in and stay hours after closing time but you have to be able to have the patience to keep helping them even when you might have something to do later, so you just have to learn that its's not about you but the client even if they are difficult to work with.

5. I think working with my mom really didnt help me choose a topic because im confused about how to follow on i dont know if i want to do my project on running a business or on party planning.
